DESCRIPTION
This is a great role for a recent accounting graduate looking to get their career started. The Junior Accountant helps to maintain the corporate accounting records of a growing firm, entering transactions timely and accurately. The role reports directly to the Assistant Controller and indirectly to the Controller. This is a high visibility role, interacting with the partner group, and includes exposure to transactions for the firm and 2 subsidiary entities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Gain an understanding of the chart of accounts and general ledger transactions/classifications.
- Record daily financial transactions, includingcash receipts, vendor invoices, and vendor payments, in the general ledger.
- Post cash receipts to the correct clients and invoices in the time & billing system.
- Process recurring customer credit card paymentson time each month.
- Process vendor payments timely. Develop relationships with vendor contacts.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure vendor invoices are approved and processed timely.
- Maintain schedule of vendor contracts. Monitor for renewals and obtain invoices to ensure timely payment in accordance with contract terms.
- Monitor the corporate credit card, obtainand review receipts, and post transactions to the general ledger accordingly.
- Review expense reports to ensure proper documentation and approvals.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations and analysesof certain accounts.
- Prepare annual schedule of Form 1099 vendors.
- Maintain records by filing documents both hard-copy and electronically.
- Assist partners with accounts receivable requests, such as client balances, transactions details, or obtaining payment information.
- Assist the Controller with Ad-Hoc requests.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and regularly requires long hours and weekend work.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Accounting internship experience a plus
